Marmaris Greek Islands Gulet Charter Itinerary

Marmaris Greek Islands Gulet Charter combines the southwest coast of Turkey with two of the most requested Dodecanese destinations: Symi and Rhodes. This 7-night sample itinerary starts and finishes in Marmaris and includes sheltered Turkish bays, historic coastal sites and selected Greek island stops.

The route is well suited to families and groups who want more variety than a Turkey-only itinerary. During the week, guests can combine swimming and relaxed time onboard with visits to Marmaris, Bozukkale, Datça, Symi and Rhodes.

Because this is an international Turkey–Greece charter, the final programme depends on the selected yacht, its commercial documentation, customs procedures, weather conditions and the captain’s operational plan. Therefore, the itinerary should always be confirmed for the specific yacht before booking.

Marmaris to Greek Islands – 7-Night Gulet Charter Route

  • Day 1: Marmaris
  • Day 2: Serce Harbour, Bozukkale & Loryma
  • Day 3: Dirsekbuku & Bencik Bay
  • Day 4: Datca & Aktur Bay
  • Day 5: Symi Island
  • Day 6: Rhodes & optional Lindos visit
  • Day 7: Kadirga Bay & Marmaris Coast
  • Day 8: Marmaris

This is a sample route rather than a guaranteed day-by-day programme. The sequence may change according to border formalities, weather, sea conditions, harbour availability and the selected yacht.

Day 1 – Marmaris

Embarkation takes place in Marmaris, one of Turkey’s main yacht charter centres. After boarding, guests meet the crew, settle into their cabins and review the week’s route with the captain.

Depending on the embarkation time, the yacht may remain in Marmaris for the first evening or move to a nearby anchorage. This gives the group time to settle in before the longer sections of the itinerary begin.

Marmaris is a practical starting point for this route because it provides direct access to Bozburun, Datça and the nearby Dodecanese islands.

Day 2 – Serce Harbour, Bozukkale & Loryma

The yacht begins cruising southwest from Marmaris towards the Bozburun Peninsula. Serce Harbour provides a sheltered stop where guests can swim, relax and enjoy lunch onboard.

Later, the route can continue towards Bozukkale. The bay is protected by the remains of ancient Loryma and offers one of the most distinctive anchorages along this section of the Turkish coast.

Guests who want to spend time ashore may explore the archaeological remains around the bay. Meanwhile, those who prefer a slower day can stay onboard and enjoy swimming or watersports.

Day 3 – Dirsekbuku & Bencik Bay

The third day can focus on two of the best-known anchorages in the Hisaronu region.

Dirsekbuku is popular with private yachts because of its sheltered setting and calm atmosphere. The bay works well for swimming, paddleboarding and a relaxed lunch onboard.

Afterwards, the yacht may continue towards Bencik Bay. Its narrow entrance and forested surroundings create a different atmosphere from the more open bays around Marmaris.

Because both stops are primarily about time at anchor, this day provides a useful balance before the international section of the itinerary.

Day 4 – Datca & Aktur Bay

The route continues towards Datça, one of the main coastal towns between Marmaris and the Greek Dodecanese.

Before reaching the town, the yacht may stop around Aktur or another suitable bay for swimming and lunch. Afterwards, guests can spend time in Datça and explore the waterfront, local shops and restaurants.

Datça also provides a practical staging point before the yacht continues towards Greece, depending on the required customs and border procedures.

Day 5 – Symi Island

After the required departure and entry formalities, the yacht can continue towards Symi.

Symi is one of the most requested Greek island stops for private yacht charters departing from Marmaris. Its main harbour is known for colourful neoclassical buildings set around the waterfront.

Guests can spend time ashore in Gialos, explore the narrow streets or have dinner at a local restaurant. Depending on harbour availability and the captain’s plan, the yacht may also use a nearby bay for swimming.

The exact arrival time depends on customs procedures and sea conditions. Therefore, the programme should remain flexible on international transit days.

Day 6 – Rhodes & Optional Lindos Visit

The next stage continues towards Rhodes, the largest island in the Dodecanese and an important stop for Turkey–Greece yacht itineraries.

Guests can spend time in Rhodes Old Town, walk around the medieval centre or enjoy the waterfront and restaurants. The historic centre provides a strong contrast to the quieter bays visited earlier in the week.

An optional visit to Lindos may also be arranged if the schedule allows. However, Lindos is located away from Rhodes Town, so transport and timing should be planned in advance rather than assumed as part of the standard yacht programme.

Guests who prefer to remain onboard can instead spend more time swimming or relaxing around a suitable anchorage, subject to the captain’s route.

Day 7 – Kadirga Bay & Marmaris Coast

After completing the required Greek departure and Turkish entry procedures, the yacht returns towards the Marmaris coastline.

Kadirga Bay is a practical final-day anchorage with clear water and a protected setting. Guests can spend the afternoon swimming, using the yacht’s water toys or relaxing on deck.

Because the bay is relatively close to Marmaris, it also allows the captain to position the yacht comfortably for the final return the following morning.

Day 8 – Marmaris

The yacht returns to Marmaris for disembarkation. Check-out time depends on the individual charter agreement and the yacht’s operating schedule.

Guests can continue to hotels in Marmaris, transfer towards Dalaman Airport or extend their stay elsewhere along the Turkish coast.

Who Is the Marmaris Greek Islands Route Best For?

This route is particularly suitable for guests who want both Turkish coastal cruising and selected Greek island visits within one week.

  • Families and groups looking for a Turkey–Greece charter combination
  • Guests who want to visit Symi and Rhodes from Marmaris
  • Travellers who enjoy both quiet bays and time ashore
  • Groups interested in history, coastal towns and island culture
  • Guests looking for a private 7-night gulet charter

Best Time for a Marmaris to Greek Islands Gulet Charter

The main yacht charter season generally runs from May to October.

June is a strong period for guests who want warm weather before the busiest summer weeks.

July and August are peak season. Therefore, popular yachts and preferred charter dates are normally booked well in advance.

September is also highly requested. The sea remains warm, while many guests find the atmosphere more relaxed than during August.

May and October can work for guests seeking quieter travel periods. However, weather and wind conditions can be more variable.

Turkey–Greece Charter Formalities

A Marmaris–Greek Islands itinerary requires more planning than a domestic Turkish charter.

The selected yacht must be able to operate the proposed international route. In addition, customs, immigration, port procedures and local charges may apply in both countries.

For this reason, access to Symi, Rhodes or other Greek islands should never be assumed before the yacht’s documentation and charter permissions have been confirmed.

Agency costs, port fees, customs expenses and other international charter charges may also be additional to the base yacht charter rate.

What Costs Should You Consider?

The base weekly charter rate is only one part of the total cost. The exact structure depends on the selected yacht.

Additional items may include:

  • Food and beverages
  • VAT and applicable local taxes
  • APA where required
  • Private marina and port fees
  • International customs and agency charges
  • Fuel outside the yacht’s included cruising allowance
  • Motorised water sports fuel
  • Airport and ground transfers

Before booking, Gulet Yacht Fleet provides the relevant inclusions and exclusions for the selected yacht so that the group can compare the complete charter structure.

Choosing a Gulet for the Greek Islands

Not every gulet operating in Marmaris is automatically suitable for a Greek Islands itinerary.

When selecting a yacht, we consider more than cabin capacity. The yacht’s documentation, operating area, seasonal position and commercial charter permissions are also important.

For families and groups, cabin configuration should also be checked carefully. Depending on the yacht, accommodation may include Master, Double, Twin or Triple cabins.

You can compare available options in our Marmaris Gulet Charter fleet or view the wider Gulet Charter collection.

Important Itinerary Information

This programme is provided as a sample itinerary and should not be treated as a guaranteed sailing schedule.

The captain has final responsibility for navigation. As a result, the route may change because of weather, sea conditions, customs timing, berth availability or other operational requirements.

International charter days may also require additional time for formalities. Therefore, the final route should always be confirmed with the selected yacht before embarkation.
