Description
PASSION is a 48.5-metre classic expedition motor yacht offering an exceptionally intimate way to explore the Galápagos Islands. Originally built by Anastassiades & Tsortanides and extensively rebuilt and upgraded during her long operational history, she underwent a major transformation for Galápagos service in 2015 and now combines classic yacht character with the facilities required for professionally guided wildlife expeditions.
PASSION accommodates up to 14 guests in 7 en-suite cabins, supported by an onboard team that includes a professional naturalist guide. With expansive teak decks, panoramic lounges, two outdoor hot tubs, stabilizers, kayaks, snorkelling equipment and dedicated tenders for shore excursions, she is designed around immersive exploration rather than conventional Mediterranean-style yacht charter. Private charters operate exclusively around the Galápagos Islands under licensed expedition itineraries.

Accommodation
PASSION accommodates up to 14 guests in 7 individually arranged en-suite cabins. The current configuration combines two substantial principal suites with five additional staterooms, offering considerably more privacy and space than larger expedition vessels carrying dozens of passengers.
Master Suite
The expansive Master Suite features a king-size bed, generous living space, full-length windows and two private bathrooms, including separate bath and shower facilities.
VIP Suite
The VIP Suite includes a king-size bed, sofa, walk-in storage and two private bathrooms, creating an unusually generous secondary suite for an expedition yacht.
5 Additional Staterooms
Five additional staterooms feature a combination of Queen, King, Twin and mixed bed configurations. Every guest cabin includes a private bathroom and individual air conditioning.
Living Areas & Expedition Comfort
With only 14 guests spread across a yacht measuring almost 50 metres, PASSION offers an unusually generous amount of interior and exterior space. Her layout includes panoramic lounges, indoor and outdoor dining, expansive open decks and quiet observation areas ideal for wildlife viewing.
A Private Galápagos Expedition
PASSION differs fundamentally from a conventional Mediterranean charter yacht. She operates as a licensed Galápagos passenger vessel with professionally structured itineraries and a certified naturalist guide who accompanies guests during island visits and wildlife excursions.
Rather than choosing an unrestricted cruising route each morning, guests follow approved Galápagos National Park itineraries designed around protected landing sites, wildlife encounters, snorkelling locations and conservation requirements.
For a private group, this creates an unusual combination: the exclusivity and service of a private yacht with the knowledge, licensing and logistical infrastructure of a dedicated Galápagos expedition vessel.
Naturalist-Led Exploration
A professional naturalist guide is an integral part of the PASSION experience, providing interpretation of the islands’ wildlife, volcanic landscapes, marine ecosystems and conservation history throughout the voyage.
Performance & Expedition Capability
PASSION is powered by twin MTU diesel engines and cruises at approximately 10 knots. Her steel displacement hull, long-range capability and stabilizers are well suited to the controlled cruising and overnight passages required between protected Galápagos visitor sites.
Unlike a high-speed Mediterranean motor yacht, PASSION’s operating profile prioritises range, stability and guest comfort over maximum speed.
Tenders & Expedition Equipment
PASSION’s equipment is designed around Galápagos exploration rather than conventional powered yacht toys.
2 Expedition Tenders
Two outboard-powered tenders support guest transfers, wet and dry landings and movements between the yacht and designated visitor sites.
Kayaks
Kayaks allow guests to quietly explore permitted coastal areas, mangroves and sheltered bays when included in the approved itinerary.
Snorkelling Equipment
Masks, snorkels and fins are provided for guided snorkelling activities in designated Galápagos marine sites.
Short Wetsuits
Short wetsuits are included with the regular expedition programme, while additional or specialist equipment may be available separately.
Galápagos activities are subject to National Park regulations, approved itineraries, guide instructions, sea conditions and wildlife-management requirements. Equipment and activity schedules should be reconfirmed before booking.
PASSION Yacht Charter in the Galápagos Islands
PASSION operates exclusively around the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, using professionally structured expedition itineraries approved for this protected destination.
The yacht’s published programmes include eastern and western Galápagos routes, allowing guests to experience a broad variety of landscapes and wildlife across islands such as Santa Cruz, Isabela, Fernandina, Española, Genovesa, Santiago and Santa Fe, depending on the selected itinerary.
Because Galápagos visitor sites are tightly regulated, exact landing points and daily movements are determined by the yacht’s licensed itinerary rather than the completely flexible routing normally associated with a Mediterranean charter.
